i really want the new Motorola Droid X ive been to every store asking if they have it, but it turns out it isnt out in the uk and might not be coming out

No it can not. The Droid X does not have a SIM Card slot, so it can not be used on GSM networks. Try the Milestone, or when the Milestone 2 comes out.
The Droid is part of a line of Motorola phones that runs a different type of network that is available in the UK. The Droid line uses a CDMA network. The type of phone that WILL work for you will need to be able to be used on a GSM. My recommendation: The Samsung Vibrant from T-Mobile.
