I am looking for a second hand car and have a budget of around £5000 (maybe a little bit more for the right car). My top requirement is that it has very little noise at motorway speeds. I borrowed a Peugeot 3008 crossover recently and that was almost silent, but out of my price range.

Otherwise the quietest car you’ll get for under £5k is a Lexus LS430.
The 6 Cyl BMW petrols are very quiet, smooth running and vibration free. Plenty of these about in 3 ,5 and even 7 series guise for your budget
