What would be the best cell phone carrier for international calls from Nigeria?

My dad is moving to Nigeria and is looking for a cell phone plan that would be the cheapest for him to make calls to the U.S. What would be the best carrier?
Also, if anyone has other suggestions, I’m open to other ideas as well.

Thanks

Which cell phone has the largest as well as user-friendly qwerty keyboard (so no on-screen one, like iphone)?

I’m looking for a cell phone with which I can easily and quickly type texts (sometimes I read cell phone reviews in which the small size of the keys are mentioned, of course that’s not what I want). I’d like a physical qwerty keyboard, not like the on-screen iphone keyboard.

T-Mobile Sidekick – worth it?

http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/phones/Cell-Phone-Detail.aspx?cell-phone=T-Mobile-Sidekick

we are going to switch to T-Mobile and i want to get a phone with a QWERTY keyboard so i can text alot, so is the sidekick worth it? i dont want something too expensive but i want a good phone, i heard the sidekick is terrible with battery power and i’ve seen pretty bad reviews, so i’m asking, is it worth it, if you have one can you tell me what you think of it, thanx

p.s. i’m a 15-year old guy, if that’s any help
i would really love to get verizon but the problem is they don’t offer service in our area, so t-mobile is my next option

Would u prefer to live in Canada or US?

WARNIG: Skip consideration of healthcare/insurance or otherwise it would be unfair comparison. Its no doubt Canada has covered everybody through government regardless of occupation.

I am tech freak and found Canada is less friendly place for people who want to stay top on technology, less than US or Europe. Example, Verizon launched LTE early in 2010 and now its in over 130 large markets. Canada just launched LTE with Rogers this summer in Toronto. US plans are expensive too but little more affordable and we only have 2 year contracts not ridiculous 3 years.

For those who don’t know what LTE, it is next generation of cell phone radio technology with faster speed and more capacity for subscribers (meaning less congestion and slowdowns at peak time). It is branded as 4G, HSPA+ is branded as 4G too but its more of 3.5G, its not real 4g.

Also now in the US, we can watch as much netlix or hulu as we want in most markets, we do not have large incumbents with predominant ridiculous small caps like 50GB that limit you to 5 hours or less per month. (on other hand we have ridiculous costs for health care or other more essential things in life).

Summarizing, there are more priorities in life than access to newest technology but the US has still edge on technology.

I’m getting a new cell phone from Sprint. Should i get the LG Rumor, or the M520 by Samsung?

I’m not worried about many applications, or how fast the web works. I just want a sleek, stylish phone that will allow me to call, and text easily. I’ve read reviews about the Rumor breaking easily, or turning off randomly, but other reviews have been positive. The M520 reviews have been mostly positive as well. I just need suggestions. Anything is appreciated! (:

looking for some reviews on the Samsung i617 Blackjack II cell phone?

New Verizon Cell Phone?

Finally time for me to get a new phone for Verizon, the ones I have been hearing are worth looking at are the Thunderbolt, Fascinate, Blackberry Curve, Droid X and Droid Charge. I have read some reviews online and they just sound kinda bias, so I was wondering if anyone that has had one or maybe more of these phones could share what they have liked/didn’t like about it. Thanks!
Thanks guy that was really helpful, Thunderbolt and Droid X (and somewhat Droid Charge) were the big ones I had been looking at, I heard the Fascinate was good for the price but it seems like every review I read on it is almost completely negative, so leaning little more towards Droid X now, maybe I’ll hear from more pepople with Thundebolt/ X. Thanks!

Is it true or false —–?

1. Spending more than 2-3hours a day chatting or exchanging sms/messages with the same person i.e.”online friend.”

2. Thought Process is for most of the day preoccupied with thoughts of the “online friend”.

3. Extreme concern to keep it as a secret. Going to length to try and concealing it from your friends, family and spouse.
Changing all your account passwords, creating new social networks/email accounts, concealing emails, changing his/her name on the blackberry messenger, etc.

4. High fear, irritation or anger if your spouse suddenly questions you about your online/cell phone activity.

That is good idea .
Yamster that means either you are unmarried or you dont want to read the truth.

buying a new cell phone?

im with at&t (cingular) on a cell phone plan rite now but i really want and need a new one, but all of the cingular cell phone’s ive looked at lately in stores and online dont seen so great for me. i textmessage a lot, i was looking into the LG Shine, but i saw reviews that it was hard to text on, which i dont want the hassle of, plus it was on the pricey side: $ 125. so i was wondering if i can just buy a cell phone somewhere else (cricket, verizon, t-mobile) and just put my sim card in it, not acutually have to change my plan?

Are there any cell phone plans designed for people who don’t talk much?

I rarely use a phone, but every now and then I want to call home to get my parents to pick me up, the school office is closed and there is zero wifi in the cafeteria which is where I am forced to wait. Are there any cell phone plans that give 60 or less minutes a month. I would really like this and it would allow my parents to stay on budget even if I need to get a phone.

How to recieve free cell phones for reviews?

How Do I Restore My Facebook Account?

When I try to log on to Facebook I receive a message saying Please Review recent activity on your Facebook Account. I can see in the heading that this is a 4 step process and I can never get past 2.

I press continue and a captcha box comes up. I have no problem with that step. Also 2 let you know the only highlighted areas on the screen at this point are for audio captcha or to try different words.

Once I complete this step I am asked to confirm my account using my phone number. It says it will send me a txt with a code. I have get 2 recieve any code and have tried this step at least 50 times.

I thought the problem was my phone because I recently upgraded and switched carriers, but I am able to receive SMS txt from my bank. I also called my cell phone company and they say I am enabled.

One issue I not is that the telephone number listed on the Facebook screen is my phone # preceded by a 1. I don’t know if this is the issue but I am unable to log in to correct the #. I have been emailing Facebook for a week and get no help.

Do you have an answer?

Who else has a ‘chocolate’ cell phone from verizon.?

Can anyone give me pros/cons or tips/reviews of this phone?

REPOST: Filipino Racial Jokes 1: Fist Full of Lumpia?

Filipino Racial Jokes 1: Fist Full of Lumpia?
The teacher turns to the class and says, “Today, we will use these three words in a sentence. Defense, detail, and defeat. Tom, why don’t you go first?”

Tom, a white kid, goes first.

Tom says, “Ahh, the football team’s defense was detailed in the paper which caused the defeat of the other team.” (The narrator’s tone is slang-American when saying this sentence.)

The teacher turns to Chang, a Chinese boy, and says, “How about you Chang?”

Chang says, (narrator uses a Chinese accent), “the Defense Department gave details of the defeat of the guerrillas.”

“That’s very good Chang, now what about you, Bong-Bong?” says the teacher. “Use defense, detail, and defeat in a sentence.”

Bong-Bong, the Filipino boy, doesn’t want to do it. (Accent of narrator becomes heavily influenced by Ilocano or Tagalog accent).

“Ma’am, ay don’t know how to use it,” says Bong-Bong.

“Come on, just try,” says the teacher.

“Okay, ma’am,” says Bong-Bong. “Ahhhh…dah black dog…jumped ober (over pronounced with “b” sound) dah fence (“dah” instead of the sound “the”), dah tail first and den, dah feet.”

There was this Filipino kindergarten teacher and she was teaching her class how to do the hokey-pokey. She started off by saying, “You put your right feet in, you put your right feet out, you put your right feet in….”

Suddenly one of the children said, “Teacher you have to say ‘foot.’”

So the teacher said, “You ‘foot’ your right feet in, you ‘foot’ your right feet out…..”

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF Manila IS ATTACKED?
By: DarkNinja

After the tragedy in New York and Washington the question arises:

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF Manila IS ATTACKED?

Well … if that happens, there can be no comparison. That’s because in Manila, we are much better prepared for these kind of attacks.

We do not have tall buildings. The only large structure that can be seen from above is the Marcos monument in Ilocos and terrorists are welcome to target that.
We all get on the job late in the morning specially government employees, so at 8:45 there won’t be sufficient people to kill (well, not even at 10 am!).
Fire fighters and police officers will do their utmost not to get to the spot in time. They will reach there just when everything is over, so there will be no casualties among them.
The national airline would surely have fouled up the terrorists plans by being delayed again or crash before even getting to the target due to mechanical troubles.

A Pinoy would not have used his cell phone to call home. He would’ve hit the terrorist with it over the head.
If a terrorist was living for one year in Manila he would’ve been robbed and molested so many times he would’ve given up and gone back to his home country a long time ago.
In Manila, the terrorists would not have gotten the flight manual, they would’ve had to pay for it.
You see… in Manila we are well prepared

LG Xenon Cell Phone Question?

I really like the LG Xenon, the slide out keyboard is the main thing that I’m looking for, but the reviews on AT&T said that it freezes up. I want to know if its true or not, im really just gonna use it for texting and phone calls, not web browsing.

What is the best cell phone plan and which provider?

What is the best cell phone service for Occidental college campus in CA?

My sister is going to Occidental (Los Angeles, CA) in the fall and I want to buy her a new cell phone, but I don’t know which provider has the best coverage. Ignoring all cost considerations, and any fancy features. I just want her to get service in as much area as possible, mainly on campus, but also the surrounding areas.
Re: billing, my dad pays for both me and my sister’s cell-phone bills, so I will be using his billing information (yeah I guess that means I’m technically not buying it for her, my dad is, but so what).
Re: service, please only post your suggestions if you have direct experience with reception in and around Occidental campus. Cell phone coverage in dense cities varies literally from foot to foot. At U of M, for example, Verizon is the best for central campus, but 2 minutes away on north campus, T-mobile gets the best service.
