Ok, im 17 and im wanting to get an iphone 4g on contract with o2. The problem is you have to be 18 to open a contract. So I went to Phones 4 U today and talked to someone there and they said that I could open a contract under someone Else’s name but with my bank account. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Also can anyone think of any other solutions to the problem. If it helps I will start work full time with the RAF in 3 weeks so will have the credit every month.

On Friday I ordered an iPhone 3G Reconditioned phone from the O2 website. At the time, the item was still in stock, and I got an email that night saying thank for your order. In the email, it also said that if I had ordered something, they would be in touch shortly to let me know if it has been accepted and when it will be dispatched, although they already gave me a date and time of day to expect the delivery to my door.

However, when I checked the O2 website yesterday morning, it said “Please note: iPhone Reconditioned 3G 8GB Black is currently not available”. You can see that here http://shop.o2.co.uk/promo/iphoneindex/Pay_Monthly/Reconditioned_3G.

However, later on that day, when checking my orders, all of a sudden a box popped up telling me of my order number, the delivery option (next day delivery), what the item was etc and the order status. On the status, it said “in progress”. Well I was hoping that the webpage would explain things, but no, it doesn’t.

Still this morning, I have had no confirmation email, no rejection email, and the status is still reads “In Progress”. So I am left wondering if the item will turn up at all? I would have thought that since I ordered it before the website said it’s unavailable, I should get the item on the date they originally said.

My thought is this, see if you agree.

Friday, after 5pm I ordered the iPhone. On the website, it says that any orders received before 5pm from Mon-Fri will get a next day delivery, but ones ordered after that will get the item on monday.

So maybe, this is what has happened:

Friday – iPhone ordered, email with date and time is sent by O2.

Saturday – Last iPhone 3G’s in stock by O2 are ordered, and no others are going to be available, because of the soon to be launched iPhone 4G (Quite ironic that it’s launched one day after my birthday) will push the 3GS back into the 3G’s place discontinuing it. Also on the same day, my order details are confirmed on O2′s website. Now it says “In progress”, probably meaning that it has been accepted, and that they are getting it ready for next day delivery.

Sunday – Well, the O2 website does not list this day in it’s delivery times, so I’m guessing that they have left it on “In Progress” ready for Monday when they will deliver it to the nearest warehouse, and hopefully the next day the order will read “completed” and on the same day it will be sent straight to my house.

So, do you think that I have just answered my own complicated question above, or have you got another idea? Please reply below.
