I’m purchasing an iPhone 4G (my first iPhone) but not sure what network to go with. They have offered me the best deal but have heard negative reviews. For anyone who had Vodafone with the iPhone 3G or 3GS model, would you recommend it based on signal strength and 3G connectivity and stuff like that?

I’m used to Apple and iTunes etc and am new to the world of Android! (But loving my Galaxy S2!)
Thanks for your help in advance!
a family member has recently moved to America so I can’t text her for free. I know that apps like Ping! on the iPhone allow people to message for free, are there any for the HTC hero that will do the same thing?
What does yours run at when idle and when under pressure? I am asking this because I realised that the processor on my desktop is much cooler than my processor on my laptop. Desktop 20 degrees, laptop: 45 degrees. Im referring to Celsius not farenheit.
I’m looking into getting a blackberry and the 24 month contracts are a lot cheaper, however they have 500MB of web data included instead of unlimited each month. I can’t imagine I would be using it a ridiculous amount. Does anyone with experience know how quickly this would get used up? Is 500MB a month a small amount?
